Why should I do business on the internet?

There are 3 key reasons you should consider the internet alternative now especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.

1. METRICS

By this I am referring to measurable results. Metrics provide a scoreboard. For example, you visit the doctor and he says that you are overweight. How does he know that you are overweight? He measured your weight using a scale then he provided a diet plan to follow. He then says, to return in two weeks.

You follow the plan and after week one you see no results. Week number two passes and you feel the same way. You may even feel a little fatter. Nonetheless, you go to your follow-up visit and he checks your vitals and the results show that you lost 2 pounds.

How did the doctor know? Simple; he measured the results. He then he compared the results.

What does that have to do with business? You place an ad in traditional media albeit, the newspaper, magazine, radio advertisements. If your business increased in sales can you attribute the increase in sales to any individual customer? Can you link the causation of that advertisement to money in the bank? Internet advertisement can calculate that with precision because every click, every interaction, every page accessed, how long you were on the page is measured.

Whether or not you believe in the Bible or not the fact is, the book is over 2000 years old and every year it is still the best selling book. In this regard it has to have some merit. With that in mind, there is a verse that almost everyone knows. Let's see if you could complete it? The race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong but to those who can’t endure to the end. If in your mind you repeated, "can endure to the end" you have been tricked, mislead and bamboozled. The correct verse goes like this “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, not the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.”

My interpretation is that everyone will receive an opportunity to make their life better. Opportunities are life's way of acknowledging that you're on deck, bat in your hand and life tosses you a ball. The bases are loaded, the stands are full and it may even be the last inning. Life doesn't really care if you hit a home run or not. What matters is that you take a swing at it. Here's a secret; the player with the most home runs also has the most strikeouts.

3. ONE DAY OF FAVOR IS EQUAL TO 365 DAYS OF LABOR. -      Mike Murdock

The same guy suggests that, "The difference between seasons in your life is a person." Your boss may have over 300 employees. What makes you different? If he or she treats you all the same then why do you all receive a different pay? Answer = Value. It is because of the value that even though Jesus had 12 disciples he only took three of them to the Mount of Transfiguration. The story further describes that one out of the three even went to sleep with his head on Jesus' chest. Strange but true. This assures me that even Jesus did not treat everybody equally. Leaders do not need a formal position to lead. Leaders simply do the right thing regardless of what is trending.

John Maxwell asks, "How do you know a leader's voice?" Response? They just sound a little different. How do they sound? Leaders provide direction. The entire world is concerned about COVID-19 most persons have some kind of fear, anxiety or concern regarding the potential negative impact but this sickness may have on their lives or loved ones. Emotions can also be viral. It is why most black folks if at an event notice that everybody starts running away they never first ask why? You just run. Your boss may be looking for a leader. Some are willing to take the initiative, someone who is willing to do the right thing,

Will you sound differently from everyone else?

What will you do differently today?

How will you create an opportunity?

I know this much; the greatest leader to walk the face of the earth knows that leadership begins with service. Leaders think value before pay. Leaders give before asking. Leaders lead from the front and by example.

Secret #2. The internet has been known to eliminate the middle man. Question? Who is standing between you and your money? And how can we use the COVID-19 crisis to convert this problem to an opportunity?
